Experience an evening of Irish music, dance, and culture with the An Daire Academy! Inspired by the touring dance shows, Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, the dancers take you on a journey of the Irish immigration to America, and how this influenced the development of music and dance. 

The evening will showcase the growth and development of Irish music and dance over the years, highlighting the very beginnings of group social dancing to the formation of organized competitive dancing. Appropriate for all ages, this performance explores and celebrates this wonderful part of Irish American history!

As a recipient of a City of Hillsboro Performance Series Grant, this performance directly supports the Pacific Celtic Foundation, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting STAGES Performing Arts Youth Academy.

More About An Daire Academy of Irish Dance

The An Daire Academy of Irish Dance began in 2005. Founded by Co-Directors Jim Mueller and Lauren Crowe-Mueller, they bring their rich diversity of experience with music and dance to their students who have enjoyed many successes at regional. national, and world championship events, in addition to touring Irish dancing shows. The An Daire Academy has performed for media on AMNW, Good Day Oregon, and numerous morning shows for KGW, KOIN, KATU, FOX, and various Internet TV shows. They can be seen at local pubs around St. Patrick's Day such as Kells, Paddy's, and the Dullahan and annually celebrate with Kells at the Green Rain charitable fundraiser for the Providence Portland Child's Center. The Academy has gone viral on Youtube with their crowd-pleasing performances including being awarded the "Top 10 Viral Videos of the Year" for their rendition of "Gangnam Style" in 2013!
